Each year, Music House offers a workshop series designed to prepare college students and young professionals for success in their orchestral audition pursuits. The program includes lectures by acclaimed artists, repertory orchestra, and “Mock Auditions” adjudicated by Kensho Watanabe, Assistant Conductor of The Philadelphia Orchestra.
Repertory Orchestra: Four 2-hour rehearsal sessions with Maestro Watanabe and other guest conductors, working on intensive repertory exposure to works regularly found on major orchestral auditions, such as: Mozart Symphony No. 35 “Haffner”, Brahms Symphony No. 1, Dvořák Symphony No. 7, Strauss’ Don Juan, Stravinsky’s The Firebird, and other works.
If you anticipate participation in the mock auditions, please review the lists below for required audition repertoire by instrument.
(Note: you may choose any combination of the excerpts listed; you will not be expected to perform all of them.)
